A dream to cease

– by Vednarayan J. Varma

Lost into oblivion, I cease to wonder.
How a fool I’ve become to have a wayward dream.
I scold myself of the time I lost,
only to wander off into my fantasy.

I stray into the abyss of my dream.
To relish who I’ve become,
A prince worshipped for his charm,
A warrior – young and mighty, almost feeling omnipotent.

With time, only to realize
I’m a fugitive of my fantasy.
Unable to control the state of my mind.
The power I thought I once held,
only to be an illusion.
Lost into oblivion, I cease to wonder.
How a fool I’ve become to have a wayward dream.
